What is a Wrinkle Reducer?

Wrinkle Reducers use neurotoxins to block signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can't contract, making the wrinkles relax and soften. Neurotoxins are most often used on forehead lines, crow's feet (lines around the eye), and in between the brows.

What to Expect

Plan ahead! Wrinkler reducers take time to work (10 days). Sometimes bruising can occur as well, but there is usually a very small chance you will actually experience bruising. Plan 10 days prior to an event to make sure your product is fully working.

What should I expect?

  • Wrinkle injection appointments are fast. Your nurse will help you determine which wrinkle reducer is right for you.
  • You will have small red bumps where the product is placed that will go away in 15 mins or less.
  • The needle used is about the size of an eyelash so pain is very minimal - if any.

Doctor’s Takeaways

  • Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior
  • Avoid ibuprofen or any blood thinner prior to appointment, as this will increase your risk for bruising
  • Get your workout in the day prior to your appointment. No working out, sauna or jacuzzis or flying 24 hours after appointment.
